UNIQLO

Radiant Spaces That Draw a Crowd

Building a Brand Bridge with Modular Environments

As UNIQLO expanded into the Texas market, they required three pop-up displays across two premier mall locations in Dallas and Houston. These structures served as the primary brand touchpoint before their permanent retail stores opened. Each unit had to drive shopper engagement and generate brand awareness within a strict 8’ x 8’ footprint.

Bolster drew inspiration from traditional Japanese timber and shoji screen construction to create a contemporary "open-concept" configuration of three booths. This design choice provided high visibility for featured products and created a variety of interesting viewpoints to invite shoppers in.

A balance of premium aesthetics and logistical durability

Our team focused on a modular construction system that allowed for rapid assembly and disassembly without sacrificing the high-end feel of the UNIQLO brand. We prioritized:

  • Structural Modularity: Every component was engineered to be easily transported and installed within restrictive mall environments.
  • Material Integrity: We selected materials that could withstand high-traffic mall environments while maintaining a minimalist profile.
  • Precision Fit: Prototyping allowed us to ensure that the components remained stable and durable across multiple installations.
  • Operational Efficiency: The modular design allowed for a streamlined setup which reduced labor costs and allowed the booths to be repurposed for future in-store use.
  • Brand Impact: The open-frame construction maximized the small footprint, allowing for high-volume foot traffic and product interaction.
  • Precision Execution: By managing the entire lifecycle from design to on-site installation, Bolster ensured the brand experience remained consistent across multiple locations.

The launch successfully introduced the brand to the region, exceeding visitor goals by 123% and drawing a launch-day crowd of over 500 guests. The strategic placement and design of the booths drove significant conversion: 20% of visitors were new to the brand, and 60% of shoppers redeemed coupons distributed at the pop-ups. This commitment to both form and function was recognized at the 2025 Summit Marketing Effectiveness Awards, where the project earned a Platinum Award from a field of over 5,000 international entries.

Our team excels in designing and building solutions created for real-world excellence, ensuring that every project is thoughtfully planned and impeccably realized.
